The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national free throw contest for kids up to 13 years old. It begins with competition in the local Lodges, Including the 22 Lodge in New Mexico. Winners at the
local competition advance to the District Competition, then to State, and then to Regional, in our case for New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana, in Dallas, and then possibly to the National Hoop Shoot in Springfield, Mass..  | Regional Hoop Shoot Mar. 27, 2010 No New Mexico participants will advance to the National Hoop Shoot this year, however there were one second place, as well as several third and fourth place winners. In Boys 8-9, Junior Barbosa from Alamogordo finished in fourth place; in the 8-9 Girls, Anica Baloy from Rio Rancho finished fourth; in Boys 10-11, Josiah Anaya from Albuquerque finished fourth; in Girls 10-11, Sheree Kinsel of Gallup finished in third place; in 12-13 Boys, D. J. Bustos of Las Vegas finished fourth, and in Girls 12-13, Deanna Bustos of Las Vegas finished second. Click Here for the full list of winners! |
State Winners Advance to Regionals in Texas The winners in the State Hoop Shoot on February 13th will next advance to regional competition.
